

ORANGEBURG, SC (October 9, 202) – South Carolina State suffered yet another setback in a 6-1 decision to the UNC-Asheville Sunday (Oct. 8th) inside Oliver C. Dawson Stadium on Willie Jeffries Field.
UNC-Asheville posted their first goal after Kaiya Boud scored from the left side at the 35:35- minute mark. Despite a great defensive effort, UNC-A managed to score two additional goals from Daysha Chaney (3:45-minute mark) and Nao Kawasaki (2:20-minute mark) just before the end of the first half making the score 3-1.
Sophomore newcomer, Karla Gordon scored her first goal of the season in the first half for SC State under the 30-minute mark off a shot down the middle tying the game at 1-1.
UNC-Asheville scored three additional goals in the second half to claim to win.
Goalkeeper, sophomore Sierra Curnell recorded ten saves in the loss.
The Lady Bulldogs fall to 0-8, while UNC-Asheville improved to 6-3-4.
Up Next: The Lady Bulldogs are set to travel to Bayou to face Grambling State (Oct. 11th) and Arkansas Pine Bluff for a tri-match series hosted by Grambling State.
