Lauren Scott vs. Paine


AUGUSTA, GA (January 6, 2024) – The Claflin Lady Panthers (5-7, 1-5 CIAA) got back to their winning ways when the team took a 98-61 win over the Paine Lions (0-9), Saturday afternoon. It was three dominating performances that powered the Lady Panthers to victory.

The Lady Panthers took the win by controlling every aspect of the game. The Lady Panthers controlled the game from the very beginning to the end. As a team, the Lady Panthers shot a scorching hot 61.5% (40-of-65). The team was especially impressive in the interior with 64 points in the paint. Claflin senior guard Nya Morris and junior guard Lauren Scott scored 23 points each to lead the way for the Lady Panthers. Morris also added six rebounds. Claflin senior forward Destiny Coleman added a near double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Junior guard Myla Lee added a career-high nine points as well.

The Lady Panthers will get a bit of a break before turning to action Thursday, when the team hosts the rival Benedict Lady Tigers at the Edward L. Tullis Arena.
