ORANGEBURG, SC (May 26, 2022) – The South Carolina State men’s 4×100 meter relay team will be among four relay teams and 19 individuals from the MEAC participating in the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN May 25-28.
The Bulldog team of Waddell Rembert-Jett, Brenton Shippy, Erick Hill and Jaden Barker will compete on Friday at 5 p.m. Twenty-four teams, making up three heats, will battle for 12 spots in the NCAA Championship Jun. 8-11 at Eugene, Oregon.
The top three teams in each heat will advance, along with the next three overall best times. The Bulldogs, using a slightly different lineup ran the fastest time in the MEAC this season with a clocking of 39.54 at the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia Apr. 16. SC State was favored to win the event at the recent MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Norfolk, VA but suffered a miscue with the baton exchange and did not finish.
