ORANGEBURG, S.C. (July 14, 2023) – The South Carolina State volleyball team announced its 2023 schedule, a slate that features 15 non-conference and nine home matches under first-year head coach Melissa Paige.
The Lady Bulldogs open the season with an exhibition match against Paine College on Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. inside the Historic Dukes Gymnasium. The 2023 season-opener for SCSU will be Aug. 25-26 at the Georgia State Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
SC State will make a quick turnaround for its home opener in Orangeburg on Aug. 29 against Charleston Southern at 6:30 p.m. before returning to the road Sept. 1-2 to play in the Wofford/Upstate Tournament in Spartanburg, SC.
Coach Paige’s team will continue its road schedule at Charlotte, NC, and Charleston, SC respectively, to play in a pair of tournaments at Queens University (Sept. 8-9) and Charleston Southern University (Sept. 15-16).
The Lady Bulldogs open conference play with a weekend road swing at Washington, DC, against Howard University on Sept. 22, and Norfolk, VA, on Sept. 24, to meet Norfolk State.
SCSU will finally enjoy a break from road action with five of October’s nine matches at home, highlighted by a non-conference matchup against Allen University (Oct.3). The Lady Bulldogs close out the regular season with a home match on Nov. 5 against Delaware State, before traveling to North Carolina Central (Nov. 10) for the final conference road trip of the season.
The 2023 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Tournament will be hosted by Delaware State on Nov. 17-19 at Dover, DE.
