DOVER, DE (October 25, 2021)—South Carolina State played an almost perfect match drawing a 1-1 tie with Delaware State on the road Sunday (Oct. 24th) at Alumni Stadium.
Senior goalie Kierra Cox finished with a game-high nine (9) saves on the day.
Forward Alaysia Grose put SC State on the board first off a goal and assist by Karli Williams at the 31:21 mark of the first-half. This marks Grose third goal of the season.
DSU responded on a goal by Jada Lee and assist by Ashely Ventura at with 58:36 mark.
From there, SCSU and Delaware State both played lights out on defense forcing an overtime which ended in a 1-1 tie.
South Carolina State improved to 1-11-1 overall.
Next up the Lady Bulldogs will play their season finale on Thursday (Oct.28th) versus Allen University at O.C. Dawson Stadium/Willie Jeffries Field. First kick is 7 p.m.
Prior to the start South Carolina State will honor and recognized eight (8) seniors playing their final collegiate contest in a pregame ceremony.
