CHARLOTTE, NC (October 4, 2023) – Claflin sophomore Jakarriez Sanders was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men’s Runner of the Week, Tuesday afternoon. It was his terrific performance at the Akiah McMillan Invitational that earned him the honor.
Sanders was the Panthers’ top performer in the men’s 8K run at the Akiah McMillan Invitational Meet. He finished the course in 29:43.8 to place 63rd at the meet. The time was the best by a CIAA runner this week.
The Panthers cross country teams will return to action, Friday, when the teams head to Charlotte, North Carolina to take part in the Royals Cross Country Challenge.
