ORANGEBURG, SC (August 20, 2023) — South Carolina State head coach Buddy Pough will start the 2023 campaign, beginning Monday (Aug. 21st ) with the annual Bulldog Football Press Conference.
The weekly press conference will be held at 12 noon, each Monday during the season in Staley Hall on the second floor in room 205 on the campus of SC State University.
Pough who is entering his 22nd season at the helm, is 146-87 overall and 112-42 in MEAC play, is the All-Time Winningest Coach in school history. His teams captured three MEAC titles (2021,2008 & 2009) outright, shared five others (2004, 2010, 2013 ,2014 and 2019), and made four trips to the prestigious FCS playoffs (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013).

The video conference, which features the league’s six head coaches, will run weekly from Monday, Aug. 28, through Monday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m.
Each head coach will be available for a 10-minute period that includes a brief statement about the previous and upcoming games and opponents. Each session concludes with a question-and-answer session with members of the media.
Credible media outlets may access the video conference via a Zoom link that will be provided by the MEAC strategic communications office. The entire video conference will be available no later than each Wednesday morning on the MEAC’s YouTube channel.
