AIKEN, SC (December 2, 2023) – The Claflin Panthers (2-2) could not find their way, Saturday when the team a took an 80-62 road loss to the USC-Aiken Pacers (6-1), Saturday. The team gave a solid overall effort in the game, but offensive struggles proved to be too much for the Panthers to overcome.

As a team, the Panthers had a tough time putting points on the scoreboard in the loss. The Panthers finished the game, shooting just 36.5% (23-of-63) from the floor, including shooting just 14.3% (three-of-21) from the three-point line. The team did a good job taking care of the basketball with only 13 turnovers for the entire game. Claflin sophomore guard Gregory Crawford led the way for the team with 12 points I the game. Junior guard John Whitehead, III, and senior guards Bryson Dennis and Daijohn Stewart both added nine points each in the game. Junior guard Demarius Wash led the Panthers’ rebounding efforts with eight rebounds in the game.

With the loss, the Panthers fall to 2-2 on the season. The team will return to action, Wednesday, when the team heads to Greenwood, South Carolina to take on the Lander Bearcats.
