ORANGEBURG, SC (December 6, 2022) – The Claflin Panthers (7-0) staged a furious second half comeback to claim an 86-84 victory and kept their seven-game winning streak alive. After falling behind, 70-45, the Panthers came back late in regulation to tie the game and went on to outscore the Lions, 8-6 in overtime to claim the win.

The Panthers took the win behind a pair of career-best performances in the game. Claflin senior forward Shyim Cunningham led the way for the Panthers with 24 points and six rebounds. Junior guard Jailen Williams added a double-double 12 points with 12 rebounds. Junior center Timothy McElroy added a double-double 11 points with 10 rebounds.

With the win, the Panthers improve to 7-0 to start the season. The team will return to action, Saturday, when they open Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play against the Shaw Bears.
