CHARLOTTE, NC (September 23, 2022) – The Claflin University Panthers cross country team had a great performance in their first men’s 8K run of the season at the 2022 Queens (N.C.) City Invite. After opening the season with a pair of 5K runs, the Panthers moved up to an 8K run for the first time this season and they responded with some great showings.
The younger members of the team had no problem with the longer distance as they continued to show some great improvements with some solid times at the meet. Freshman Reginald Gore continues to lead the way for the Panthers as he posted a team-best 00:29.55 to earn a 66th place finish at the meet Senior Caleb Patterson answered with a terrific performance of his own when he placed 93rd with a 00:31.43. Freshman Jakarriez Sanders added a 97th placed finish with a 00:32.07.
The Panthers will return to action on Friday, October 9th when the team returns to McAlpine Park to take part in the Royals Challenge.
