ORANGEBURG, SC (January 29, 2024) – The honors just keep coming in for Lady Panthers guard Nya Morris as she was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second straight week. She brought home the honor after another phenomenal week for the team.
It was her terrific play at both ends of the court that really stood out for Morris. She led the Lady Panthers to a pair of wins with some great offensive play. She opened the week with 24 points and five assists to lead the Lady Panthers to a 70-67 win at Saint Augustine’s. She also added a steals and five rebounds in the game. She then capped the week with a double-double 22 points and 10 rebounds with four steals in an 82-65 win over Johnson C. Smith.
The honor marks the second straight week that Morris has been named the Food Lion CIAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The Lady Panthers will return to action, Wednesday, when they take on the Fayetteville State Lady Broncos at Felton J. Capel Arena in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
