STATESBORO, GA (February 21, 2023) —The South Carolina State men’s tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 decision Monday (Feb.20th) versus Georgia Southern.

“We have lost 5 matches 4-3 and had chances to win all of them,” said head coach Hardeep Judge. “I look forward to us getting healthy and getting some players back. With such a young team these close losses will make us better down the stretch.”

The doubles matches went in favor of the Bulldogs after SCSU swept all three doubles matches, taking a 1-0 lead into the singles portion of the afternoon.

In the singles match at the No. 1 spot Aissa Benchakroun defeated P. del Castillo 6-1, 7-5 and Luka Stefanovic defeated Julia Calac 7-6, 5-7 and 7-6 at the No. 6 spot to gain victories.
