Kyndall Perry Action

ORANGEBURG, SC (September 18, 2023) – The Claflin Lady Panthers (3-2) put on a defensive showcase when the team claimed a three-set win over the Tuskegee Golden Tigers (0-4), Monday afternoon. After a dominating 25-14 win on the opening set, the Lady Panthers had to fend off a scrappy Tuskegee team to claim a 25-22 second set win and closing the match with a 27-25 win in the final set.

While the Lady Panthers were able to get some things going on offense, it was the team’s defensive effort that highlighted the match. As a team, the Lady Panthers totaled just 25 kills in the match, but the team got their points elsewhere. The team totaled eight service aces. Claflin junior Jaide Holliday led the way when she totaled six blocks (none solo) in the match while fellow junior Taylin Johnson and senior Kyndall Perry added four blocks each (none solo). Johnson also led the Lady Panthers’ offense with eight kills in the match.

With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 3-2 overall for the season. The team will return to action, Thursday, when the team heads to Mount Vernon, Georgia to take on the Brewton-Parker Barons.
