Panthers vs. Lincoln Action

 

LAURINBURG, NC (September 6, 2023) – The Claflin Lady Panthers (1-1) gave a solid effort, but the team could not overcome some miscues in a four-set road loss to the Saint Andrews Knights (1-3), Tuesday evening. The Lady Panthers were able to post some impressive offensive numbers, but the team struggled with defensive and receiving errors in the tough 15-25, 22-25, 26-24, and 21-25 loss.

The Lady Panthers put up some impressive statistics in the loss. As a team, the Lady Panthers totaled 38 kills in the match, more than their opponents. Senior middle blocker Taneja Robinson led the way when she totaled a double-double 10 kills with 11 digs in the match. Junior outside hitter Taylin Johnson added eight kills of her own in the match as well.

With the loss, the Lady Panthers fall to 1-1 for the season. The team will return to the road for their next action when they head to Tuskegee, Alabama to take on the Golden Tigers. The team will open home court next Thursday when they on the Shaw Lady Bears.
