ORANGEBURG, SC (March 18, 2023) – The Claflin Lady Panthers (11-8) clicked on all cylinders when the team took a dominating 24-4 win over the Voorhees Tigers, Friday. The Lady Panthers notched a season-high in total runs and hits in the win. The Lady Panthers totaled 17 hits to roll to the win.
The Lady Panthers were stellar at the plate. The team compiled six extra base hits, including three triples. Sophomore outfielder Kennedy Baskerville led the way, going three-for-three at the plate with three runs scored and four runs batted in (RBI). Sophomore pitcher Breyanna Collins also had a great day with a run scored and five RBI.
Defensively, the Lady Panthers put on a great showing as well. After allowing four first inning runs to the Tigers, the Lady Panthers held the Tigers scoreless. Collins (5-4) led the effort with a strong pitching performance. She threw all five innings of the game and she totaled eight strikeouts with no earned runs allowed.
With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 11-8 overall. The two teams would go on to complete the doubleheader later in the day.
