GREENVILLE, SC (January 15, 2024) – The Claflin Lady Panthers (7-7) broke out for their second straight win when they took a dominating 97-35 win over the Morris Hornets at the HBCU MLK Unity Invitational at Bon Secours Arena. The Lady Panthers took the win behind a terrific offensive showing and some stellar defense.

The Lady Panthers’ offense was especially strong in the game. Claflin junior guard Lauren Scott led the way with 24 points and four steals in the game. Senior Nya Morris added a near double-double with 14 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Fellow senior forward Destiny Coleman added eight points with nine rebounds, a blocked shot, and three steals. Junior guard Myla Lee added a career-high 13 points with seven rebounds in the game as well.

With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 7-7 overall. The team will return to action, Wednesday, when the team hosts the Livingstone College Blue Bears.
