CHARLOTTE, NC (October 7, 2022) – The Claflin University men’s and women’s cross country teams return to action, Friday afternoon at the Royal Challenge. The two teams competed against some tough competition, including several teams from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
The Lady Panthers continued to show some steady improvement. Sophomore Madison McDonald continued to show why she was one of the top runners in the CIAA. She finished the women’s 5K run with a 21:23.5. She placed 49th with that time. Freshman Skyler Andrews added a 26:27.6. Junior Kristian Goss added a 27:22.6.
The Panthers had a strong showing as well. Freshman Reginald Gore continued to lead the way for the team. He finished the men’s 8K run with a 30:10.1 while senior Caleb Patterson was close behind him at 30:11.1. Sophomore Zion Murry added a 31:39.0.
The two teams will return to action on Tuesday, October 18th when they head to Salisbury, North Carolina to take part in the Livingstone XC Challenge.
