(FEBRUARY 8 , 2023) – The Claflin Lady Panthers kept their winning ways going when the team took a 60-56 win over the Livingstone Blue Bears, Saturday afternoon. Though the Lady Panthers looked dominant for much of the game, the team did have to fend off a relentless Livingstone squad.

The Lady Panthers took the win behind a balanced attack with three players reaching double-digit scoring. Sophomore guard Janelle Sample led the way with 17 points and six rebounds in the game while fellow sophomore Lauren Scott added 14 points and sophomore guard Nya Morris added 13 points with a game-high eight rebounds.

The Lady Panthers built a 10-point lead in the second quarter, but found themselves trailing by seven points in the third quarter.  After taking a 45-44 lead into the fourth quarter, the Lady Panthers remained calm and pulled out the clutch victory.

With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 11-10 overall and 4-8 in CIAA play. The team will return to the road for their next action as they head to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to take on the Winston-Salem State Rams.
