CHARLOTTE, NC (October 10, 2021) – It would take more that a driving rain to stop the Claflin Lady Panthers Cross Country Team that had another strong showing this weekend. The team had some great times against some top competition at the 2021 Royals Challenge hosted by Queens (N.C.) University.

The Lady Panthers continued to show improvements as the team gears up for the final stretch of the cross-country season. Once again, freshman Madison McDonald had another great showing as she progresses through the season. She ran a 21:23.6 in the women’s 5K run. Senior Sky Buie-Cox also had a great performance with a 22:15.0 at the meet. Junior Esther Chukwunwike rounded out the Lady Panthers’ top three finishers when she ran a 23:16.9.

The team will return to action, Friday when they head to Salisbury, North Carolina to take part in the Livingstone XC Classic.
