Nya Morris Action

ORANGEBURG, SC (December  5, 2022) – The Claflin Lady Panthers (5-2) scored their second straight win in impressive fashion as the team took a 111-43 win over the Paine Lions (0-6), Monday evening. After going over 10 years without scoring 100 points, the Lady Panthers did it for the second time this season in the dominating win.

The Lady Panthers took the win behind a balanced attack. Six Claflin players reached double-digit scoring in the game. Lady Panthers sophomore guard Lauren Scott led the way with 21 points in the game. Senior forward Destiny Coleman and sophomore guard Nya Morris had 15 points with seven rebounds each. Sophomore guard Janelle Sample added 13 points while senior forward Janell Horton added 12 points with seven rebounds. Freshman forward Ashari Lewis added a career-high 10 points with five rebounds.

With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 5-2 overall. The team will return to action, Saturday afternoon when they open Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play against the Shaw Lady Bears.
