ORANGEBURG, SC (February 7, 2022) —Turnovers seemed to be the deciding factor down the stretch, as South Carolina State suffered an, 73-49, setback to Morgan State Monday (Feb.7th) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

South Carolina State committed a game-high 19 turnovers on the day. All-MEAC performer Trinity Klock finished with a team-high 14 points and nine (9) rebounds, while teammate Nicole Gwynn added 13 points, five rebound and two steals in the loss. Victoria Jordan controlled the boards, grabbing a game-high 10 on the night.

Despite the tough loss, SC State led the way in bench points (18-15) and rebounds (43-41).  Morgan State finished with three players in double-figures with Ja’ Niah Henson leading the way with 19 points, Adia Brisker with 16 points and nine (9) rebounds and Ashia McCalla with 10 in the win.

South Carolina State falls to 3-18 overall, 3-4 in the MEAC, while Morgan State improves to 10-6 on the season, 4-2 in the league.
