ORANGEBURG, SC (October 2, 2023) – South Carolina State’s volleyball team dropped a pair of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matches to Coppin State and Morgan State over the weekend to remain winless in league play.

In the First Match versus Coppin State:  The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Bulldogs 3-0 (12-25, 15-25, 7-25) Friday (Sept. 29th) evening inside Historic Dukes Gymnasium. Eleisha Thompson led the way with five kills and six digs, while Kiyah Felder contributed three kills and a block. Kaia Barnett dished out nine assists, while Trinity Stevenson added an additional two assists and eight digs in the loss.

Meanwhile, In the Second Match versus Morgan State: South Carolina State rallied to steal a set but fell short to Morgan State 1-3 (20-25, 15-25, 25-23, 13-25) Sunday (Oct. 1st) afternoon. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Kiyah Felder with 15 kills, four blocks, and five digs. Barnett registered 29 assists (2nd game-high on the season) and two aces. Stevenson contributed 12 digs and one ace, while Roach tallied six kills and four blocks.

Up Next: The Lady Bulldogs remain home for a non-conference contest on Tuesday, Oct. 3rd against Allen University. The first serve is at 6:30 p.m.
