DOVER, DE– First half woes continue seemed to be the deciding factor down the stretch for the South Carolina State as they fell short on the road to host Delaware State Saturday (Jan.27) inside Memorial Hall / Bayhealth Court.
After a stagnant first half, the Lady Bulldogs looked outscored the Lady Hornets 25-15 in the third quarter.
Despite the loss, SC State had two players in double figures, with senior Cassandra Colòn registering a game-high 14 points and freshman Jada Morgan adding 11 points. Colòn also grabbed a game-high six rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Hornets were led by Ja-Naiah Perkins-Jackson, shooting 5-7 from the field tallying 23 points. Denijsha Wilson contributed another 11 points and grabbed six boards to help secure the win.
SCSU dropped to 1-18 overall, 0-3 in conference, meanwhile, the Lady Hornets improved to 6-11 overall, 2-2 in the conference.
UP NEXT: South Carolina State remains on the road and will conclude the weekend series in Salisbury, MD versus Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday, January 29th. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm.
