Jackson Selected to Compete in 3rd Annual HBCU All-Star Game


LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – Claflin senior pitcher Charles Jackson can add another honor to his resume as he was selected to participate in the 2023 Minority Baseball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game. This marks the third time that the senior has been selected to compete as one of the top baseball players at historically black colleges & universities.

The 2023 HBCU All-Star game will highlight a weekend of activities, education, entertainment, and competition for student-athletes and fans. The 3rd Annual HBCU All-Star Game will feature the top 50 HBCU baseball student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, NAIA and Junior College level programs. The event will include an exciting HBCU Homecoming Tailgate, vendors, food trucks, an educational symposium for participating student-athletes, and a pre-game home run derby.

This season, Jackson, a native of Macon, Georgia was selected after a solid season with the Panthers. He led the team with the lowest earned run average (ERA), strikeouts, and had the fewest earned runs allowed. Jackson will be a member of Team Andre Dawson.

For the first time, the HBCU All-Star Baseball Game will be on the same weekend as the inaugural HBCU All-Star Softball Game. The 2023 HBCU All-Star Baseball game will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Coolray Field, the home stadium of the Gwinnett Stripers. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
