ORANGEBURG, SC (November 30, 2023) —Janiah Hinton tossed in a game-high and career-best 25 points to lead South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs to their first win of the season in an 76-58 defeat over Queens University Wednesday (Nov. 29th) inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

Hinton shot 10-of-16 from the field and 5-of-11 from 3-point along wit grabbing six (6) rebounds to lead the way. Morgan Beacham graduate transfer chipped in 21 points with seven (7) rebounds.

Beachman was perfect from the charity stripe connecting 10-or-10 in 37 minutes of play. Cassandra Colon added the much-needed spark nailing five (5) three-pointers along with her six (6) rebounds in the win.

Queens was led by Jordyn Weaver with a team-high 19 points and nine (9) rebounds, while Alexandria Johnson added 10 points in the loss.

Former All-MEAC performer and Lady Bulldog Nicole Gwynn for the Royals was held to just seven (7) points on the night. Gwynn entered the contest averaging 19 points per outing.

UP NEXT: South Carolina State goes back out on the road to face the Lady Buccaneers of Charleston Southern on Saturday, Dec. 2nd. Tip of is at 2 pm.
