(August 31, 2022) – ESPN Orangeburg 1580 AM 92.9 FM is proud to announce a full slate of South Carolina State Bulldog football coverage for the 2022 season. The station will again serve as the flagship of the Bulldog Football Radio Network, broadcasting every game including pre- and post-game programming.
Ernest Robinson, SC Radio Sportscaster of the Year nominee and winner, returns to deliver the play-byplay alongside Retired SC State sports information director Bill Hamilton with analysis and color commentary.
The season opens as the Bulldogs travel to Orlando for the 2022 against the University of Central Florida Knights for a Thursday night matchup on September 1st . Pre-game coverage begins at 6:45 P.M. with kickoff just after 7:00 P.M.
During the September 17th bye week, ESPN Orangeburg 1580 AM 92.9 FM will air a very special rebroadcast of the 2021 Celebration Bowl where the Bulldogs defeated the Jackson State Tigers 31-10 to claim the HBCU National Championship. Pre-game interviews and coverage will begin at 11:30 A.M.

In addition to game day coverage, ESPN Orangeburg will also air “Inside SC State Football with Coach Buddy Pough,” a weekly radio show hosted live from D&B Fish and BBQ at 851 John C. Calhoun Drive in Orangeburg. The show will air Thursday nights at 7:00 P.M. beginning September 8th and is presented by Marc Brown Law Firm. Listeners and fans will have the opportunity to participate in the show through social media, call-in, and in person.
