Dennis Named Food Lion CIAA Defensive Player of the Week


CHARLOTTE, NC (February 13, 2024) – The Claflin Panthers have been having another terrific season and the honors are steadily coming in. ON Tuesday, Claflin senior guard Bryson Dennis was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Defensive Player of the Week.

Dennis earned the honor after a terrific performance last week. In three games, he compiled six total steals, including three at Winston-Salem State and two at Livingstone. He also added a steal at Elizabeth City Sate. He also recorded nine rebounds. He had four at Winston-Salem State, three at Livingstone, and two at Elizabeth City State. While he was doing a great job on the defensive end, he was also adding some offensive punch to the Panthers with 40 total points in the three games. He scored 17 points at Elizabeth City State, 12 at Livingstone, and 11 at Winston-Salem State.

The Panthers will return to action, tomorrow, when the team heads to Raleigh, North Carolina to take on the Shaw Bears.
