Claflin Cross Country Impresses at Royals Cross Country Challenge

 

CHARLOTTE, NC (October 7, 2023) – The Claflin University men’s and women’s cross-country teams had a great showing at the Royals Cross Country Challenge hosted by Queens (N.C.) University. Competing against some of the top teams in the southeast, both the Lady Panthers and Panthers were able to put on some impressive performances.

The Lady Panthers had a strong showing once again with some strong performances in the women’s 5K run. Claflin junior Madison McDonald once again led the way when she ran a 21:09.74 to place 48th in the event. Senior Jonnica Fuller placed 140th with a 25:41.22.

The Panthers also had some strong efforts at the meet. For the second straight week, sophomore Jakarriez Sanders once again led the way when he ran a 30:40.33 to placed 103rd. Senior Caleb Patterson was close behind with a 30:41.94.
