Claflin Baseball Places 26 on Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll

AUGUSTA, GA (June 29, 2023) – In addition to some great efforts on the diamond, the Claflin Panthers also gave some great efforts in the classroom during the 2022-23 season. Those efforts paid off, Thursday, when 26 members of the Panthers baseball team were named to the 2022-23 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll, presented by Barnes & Noble College.

While student-athletes are often recognized for their athletic achievements, the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll recognizes Peach Belt Conference student-athletes for their academic prowess. The honor roll recognizes Peach Belt Conference student-athletes who have compiled a 3.0 or higher grade-point average (GPA) for the academic year. The honor roll is divided into four groups: Presidential Scholars (3.0 – 3.24 GPA), Bronze Scholars (3.25 – 3.49 GPA), Silver Scholars (3.5 – 3.74 GPA), and Gold Scholars (3.75 – 4.0 GPA). The 26 Panthers are among 1,767 Peach Belt Conference student-athletes who were recognized on this year’s honor roll and marks the 13^th year in a row with 1,000 or more for the Peach Belt Conference and the third year in a row with over 1,500 student-athlete honorees.

The Panthers had spots in all four categories. The Panthers had three Gold Scholars, two Silver Scholars, 11 Bronze Scholars, and 10 Presidential Scholars.
