ORANGEBURG, SC (December 12, 2023) — Five different Bulldogs score double figures, while South Carolina State snapped a seven-game losing streak in an 86-85 overtime win over visiting Jacksonville Monday (Dec.11) inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

Michael Teal led the way with a team-high 17 points, while teammates Caleb McCarty and Mitchell Taylor each tossed in 14 points respectively. McCarty finished with the games only double-double grabbing 14 rebounds in the win.

Shaman Alston added 11 and Atiba Taylor chipped in 10 points and five rebounds, while Drayton Jones pulled down 10 rebounds and along with 4 points.

South Carolina State dominated in several categories including Points in the Paint (46-29), Second Chance Points (23-16) and Bench Points (39-15).

The Bulldogs improve to 3-8 overall, while Jacksonville fall to 4-6 on the season.

NEXT UP: South Carolina State hit the road for a two-game swing beginning with Pittsburg on Saturday (Dec. 16th) and UNC-Asheville on Monday (Dec.18th).
