Orangeburg, SC (October 23, 2022) —The South Carolina State women’s soccer team fell short in their match against MEAC Member, Delaware State a 0-3 defeat Sunday (Oct 23) at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium/Willie Jeffries Field.

Interim head coach Liz-Amanda Brown and the Lady Bulldogs played tough throughout the way with shot attempts from Jordin Harris and Faith Sparks.

The Lady Hornets jumped out to a lead of 2-0 early in the 1st half. Before going into halftime, the Bulldogs score their first goal at 00:51 by Amari ThomasDenim Whitted score the 2nd goal in the 2nd half at 6:35 making the score 3-2 and a chance to come back and tie the game. The Lady Hornets managed to secure another goal at 2:41 and clinch the win.

Bulldogs goalkeeper Kierra Cox finished with a team-high 7saves on the day.

NEXT UP South Carolina State travel to Columbia, SC. to face the Lady Yellow Jackers of Allen University in a 4 pm. match Thursday, October 27th. The Bulldogs return home to face USC-Beaufort, Saturday, October 29thfor Senior Day .
