CHARLESTON, SC (December 2, 2023) —Three Bulldogs scored double figures with Dubinsky Wilson leading the way with a team-high 13 points, but it wasn’t enough as South Carolina State dropped a tough 64-66 decision on the road to Charleston Southern inside CSU Fieldhouse Saturday (Dec. 2).

Davion Petty recorded the games only double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Caleb McCarty chipped in 10 in the loss.

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs led in several categories including, Points in the Paint (32-16), Points off Turnovers (15-13), Second Chance Points (25-7), Bench Points (33-6), and Rebounding (39-35).

The Bulldog defense force Charleston Southern to a game-high 16 turnovers.

CSU was led by RJ Johnson with a game-high 21 points, along with A’lahn Sumler with 19 and Taje’ Kelly with 11 in the win.

South Carolina State falls to 2-7 overall, while Charleston Southern improves to 3-5.

NEXT UP: South Carolina State will host Bethune-Cookman on Saturday (Dec. 9) in a 2 p.m. start, followed by Jacksonville on Monday (Dec. 11) in a 7 p.m. tip-off.
