SPARTANBURG, SC– (December 11, 2022) — Transfer forward Davion Everett tossed in a season-high 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds recording the games only double-double but fell short in overtime, 89-84, at G.B. Hodge Center Saturday (Dec. 10th).
Rahsaan Edwards led the Bulldogs with 21 points, while Raquan Brown added 15 points and five rebounds along with Cameron Jones 14 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
Despite the loss, SC State led in several categories including rebounding (41-32) and 2nd chance points (21-11).
South Carolina State falls to 1-10 overall, while USC Upstate improve to 5-4 overall.
The Spartans were led by Jordan Gainey with a game-high 28 points.
UP Next for the Bulldogs
South Carolina State returns home for a two-game stand versus UNC-Asheville Tuesday (Dec.13th) at 7 p.m. and Saturday (Dec.17th) versus Samford in a 3 p.m. start, both games inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
