ORANGEBURG, SC (February 21, 2022) — Rahsaan Edwards had a season-high 21 points as South Carolina State turned back visiting Delaware State, 79-74, Monday nigh (Feb. 21st) at Smith-Hamond-Middleton Memorial Center.

The Bulldogs improve to 2-0 against the Hornets this season. South Carolina State defeated Delaware State 64-62 on Jan. 24.

South Carolina State saluted two of their very own in pregame ceremonies during “Senior Day”, in Edward Oliver-Hampton and Deaquan Williams.

Oliver-Hampton, Jemal Davis and T.J. Madlock all scored 11 points in the Bulldogs season home finale. Davis added the games only double-double along with 12 rebounds, while Madlock had seven assist.

The red-hot Bulldogs dominated in several categories including points in the paint (39-33), points off turnovers (20-13), second chance points (23-7), bench points (15-7) and rebounds (46-31).

South Carolina State improves to 15-14 overall, 7-4 in the MEAC| tied for 3rd on the season. This is their best start since the 2015-16 basketball season.

UP Next for SC State
South Carolina State will close out regular season on the road in a three-game road swing, beginning with Norfolk State (Feb.26th), Howard (Feb.28th) and NC Central (Mar. 3rd).
