Jailen Williams vs. Coker

 

ORANGEBURG, SC (February 3, 2024) – The Claflin Panthers (11-8, 8-3 CIAA) rolled to a dominating 94-80 win over the Shaw Bears (10-10, 6-6 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Panthers utilized a balanced offensive attack with some tremendous defense to claim the win.

As a team, the Panthers had a great game. The team shot 56.5% (35-of-62) from the floor while holding the Bears to shooting just 41.9% (26-of-62) from the floor. The Panthers had a trio of great performances to power their way to the win. Claflin senior guard Bryson Dennis led the way with a team-high 18 points. He also added six assists. Junior forward Zion Obanla added a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Senior guard Jailen Williams added 16 points with two assists. Junior guard Demarius Wash added 12 points off the bench as well.

With the win, the Panthers improve to 11-7 overall and 8-3 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play. The team will return to action, Monday when they head to Elizabeth City, North Carolina to take on the Elizabeth City State Vikings.
