CHARLOTTE, NC (February 1, 2022) – With such an impressive start to the season, the honors are coming in for the Claflin Lady Panthers Indoor Track & Field team as freshman sprinter Zoe Adams was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. She brought home the honor after a terrific showing in the first collegiate meet of her career.
It was her performance in the women’s 400m dash that earned the honor for Adams. She placed fourth in the event with a 57.40. The time is currently the best women’s 400m dash time in the CIAA. She also placed 28th in the women’s 200m dash with a 25.82.
The honor is the first for Adams and marks the second consecutive week that a member of the Claflin track & field teams have earned a conference honor after freshman Jocolbi Morgan was named the Food Lion CIAA Men’s Field Athlete of the Week last week.
The Claflin University Indoor Track & Field teams will return to action, Friday, when they take part in the Camel City Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
