Adams Named CIAA Food Lion Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

CHARLOTTE, NC (December 7, 2022) – Claflin University sophomore sprinter Zoe Adams got the indoor track & field started in a big way when she was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Food Lion Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. After beginning her season with two more impressive performances to bring home Wednesday’s honor.

It was her strong back-to-back showings over the weekend that earned the honor for Adams. She began the weekend with a great performance at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick Off. She opened the season with a second-place finish in the women’s 400m dash. She recorded a 58.00 to earn the spot. She returned to the JDL Fast Track for the JDL Early Bird Invitational. She placed 6th in the women’s 200m dash with a 25.81.

Adams and the rest of the Lady Panthers will get a bit of a break as the team won’t compete again until January 14th when they take part in the USC Open.
